2003 Vauxhall Vectra 2003 vectra starting problem.

Difficult to explain really. Parked up at my work overnight until mid afternoon following day. Started without any problem at that time.
Issue is on trying to start it turning key to start position results in absolutely nothing it is totally dead, does not attempt to turn over and no sound that suggests it is even trying. Imagine it as trying to start it with battery disconnected. However lights on dash all ok, battery is good and there is no dimming when starting is attempted. Leave key in ignition for two minutes or so and it starts without any problem. If I turn key while holding in unlock or lock button for 10 secs then try to start it starts no problem but logs an error. Maybe the holding in of the lock/unlock button is just coincidental as key in ignition for a couple of minutes before I tried this. Happens everytime I try to start it now and its with both keys. I have replaced fob batteries but this does not resolve the problem.

Sounds like its not getting a good signal from the transponder in the key or possible the ring around the ignition barrel is on its way out.Check your air con control module also and on the sticker on it if its version s3.10 or 3.12 then this could also be the fault as they are bad for going but usually the car wont start at all if its this.

starter motor fault,check wiring to starter and earth on starter,remove starter and bench test

Test there is power or not at starter first before removing .
