2003 Vauxhall Vectra no drive

car was driving fine then just stopped was getting reverse now nothing it seems to be selecting gear but jst not driving checked all oils which was fine a mate put the computer on it which came up with two faults not sure what they were that cleared everything car then went great but about 3 hours later same thing any idea before going to vauxhall garage is there a chance it is diagnostic problem or is it a gear box issue

Every chance it could be an external fault , should have taken a note of fault codes.

the fault codes that were cleared need to be looked into as causing problem,do you know what the fault codes were?
