2005 Vauxhall Vectra starting problems

some times the car will not start straight away, the solenoid clicks and i can hear the starter motor free running after a few minutes the car will start, any ideas?

Sounds like starter pinion is sticking on shaft , need to remove starter and clean / free off if that is case . Could also check wiring / connection at starter motor first .
