the car seams to be leaking oil from around the top of the engine, near the r/h side of engine, when running it leaks,

Could be the cam cover gasket. These are cheap and easy to fit. Should be a good place to start. If you are doing a DIY job be careful not to overtighten as this will crush the gasket.

start wit replacing the rocker cover gasket as this is the first place to start will cost about 10 to 15 ponuds for a gasket and easy to do your self
