2005 Vauxhall Vectra wipers not working

My wipers are stopping in the middle of the windscreen and a few months ago the left hand wiper linkage went and was not cheap to replace.Why have they suddenly stopped working I did not have this problem last year and it snowed for weeks and am hoping its just a minor problem to fix

Could check fuse for wiper motor .
