Probably an airlock in your heater radiator[matrix]Usually happens if there has been new hoses or a head gasket fitted, especially if the system has overheated and run dry.Not an easy job to tackle unless you have a bit of savvy.A decent mechanic would solve it in half an hour.If you have a lot of rust and debris in the water it could need flushing because the matrix could be blocked and not allowing coolant to pass thro'it.Sorry,I dont know the flushing proceedure for your vectra.Hope this helps.
