2001 Vauxhall Vectra symbol showing car and spanner comes on

Within 5 mins of moving the car a symbol showing a car and spanner comes in(orange coloured) then that symbol goes offf and the management light comes on then goes off and goes back to the spanner symbol. The car drives perfect, no problems anywhere just these lights that come and go. Also, there are times when no lights come on.... cant understand what is going on here.

The car with the spanner in the middle of it means there is a fault in your engine management system. You will have to get it scanned to diagnose the problem

It sounds like a similar problem I am having with my signum. Garage have suggested it is to do with the control unit in charge of the steering wheel functions and ignition. Needs Vauxhall diagnostics to confirm.
