2004 Vauxhall Vectra power loss

Car will suddently loose power and will not go above 2700 revs. Cruise control will not work. When I switch off engine and restart engine and cruise control return to normal. This can happen several times a day and then not happen for weeks. Need help

car is going into limp home mode the ecu has detected a fault take it to a garage and have the engine management codes read this will point you in the correct direction
