alternator belt slipping?does it only happen when turning on or off?

Normally it's a rattle you get from chain , but suppose it's possible .There was a recall years ago on that engine and a mod. re. timing chain oil feed and tensioner .Engine numbers from 11065400 had the revised lubrication nozzle and tensioner .

if it has a dual mass flywheel this could be source of squeak/screeching noise
