2004 Vauxhall Vectra fuel pump on replacement engine

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2004
Variant: 2.0 DTI
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have had to replace the engine on my vetra
however the mechanic says that because of the fuel pump transponder on the replacement engine is not compatable with the car ecu he will have to change the pumps over which will cost hundreds more. Is there any way i can re-chip the fuel pump or bypass it to make it work with my car

if you have got a replacement engine ie like for like then all should be ok and should communicate with the ecu failing that you would have to remove the pump from the engine you have had removed and put that on hope this helps

hi,from what i can remember the fuel pump solinoid [the valve that shuts the fuel off]is operated by the immobiliser, so providing the immobiliser has not been touched the new fuel pump should be ok
