1996 Vauxhall Vectra when the car is warmed up it starts but cuts out it does this 3-5 times and stayes running

car starts first time every time but in the last 6 months when the car is warm it starts,but cuts out does this 3-5 times .and then starts and stays running tried,theromstat flushed the engine coolant im totally confused please help

hi,try cleaning the idle air control valve,these usually clog up with carbon block the air flow and stall the engine.[valve may be faulty if cleaned and still stalls] check to see if the engine breather mod has been carried out. this is a gauze filter fitted between the cam cover and the breather tube, if fitted this may be blocked after all the years of running
