1996 Vauxhall Vectra e/m light problem starting

after about an hour driving e/m light comes on,when stopping for 10 mins car is hard to start ,car starts ok from cold ,is this a major problem and costly to fix ,i would really appriciate any ones help thanks.

there will be a code stored in the ecu saying why the light came on ,have it read then repaired
