2005 Vauxhall Vectra engine shakes when idle

Hi, when the car is standing and the engine is running. With the bonned open I notice that the engine is shaking. I took this to the vauxhall garage and they said it is a diesel, diesels do this.
Can anyone confirm this? I am sure the engine is not meant to shake and I am sure when i purchased the car in 2006 it did not do this. Any ideas as to why it may be doing this?

If you think the engine is shaking more than it used to do , you could get engine mountings checked .
