No boost from Turbo

2004 Vauxhall Vectra 2 litre DTI
Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2004
Variant: 2 litre DTI
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When the car reaches around 2,500 revs instead of the turbo cicking in, if feels like the fuel supply is being cut off and the car looses power. The turbo has been taken off and tested and appears to be working correctly. The problem still occurs even when the turbo isnt even on the car. The air flow meter and EGR valve have replaced costing several hundred pounds but the problem still persists. The ECU light came on once but went off when the ignition was turned off and will not now come back on. The ECU has been plugged into the computer twice and nothing is showing on computer readouts and the ECU states there is nothing wrong with the engine.

does sound like the air flow meter but youve done that, you could try an injector leak off test this will prove the fuel system is ok as if 1 injector is leaking back to the tank the general fuel pressure will be low.have you checked the fuel pressure is high enough at the rail?

It sounds like an electrical fault, it is possible that a sensor on the common rail or a software fault has caused the ECU to run on default settings or use Limp Home mode, have you tried a software reset?

i'm in the same boat at present mate.had it in the garage for 3 days.puter showed airflow and power boost probs.both were changed and it made no difference whatsoever.
thankfully a very good independant garage were trying to fix it.and as they couldn't,they didn't charge me a penny.although i still have the problem,a case of ale is on it's way to the lads for all their help.

Check for rips/tears in intercooler pipes (usually one of the Top ones) or leaks in vacum pipework to wastegate actuator or solenoid (found round back of engine bay) fairly cofident one or both of these is fault, deaffineatlynot a Common Rail fuel Pressure Prob as this model does not have A Common Rail system
