1999 Vauxhall Vectra car shuddering

While driving my car at a set speed it shudders but while accelerating it's fine. It also dosnt seem to pull very hard, My thermometer also dosnt work and it seems poor on fuel consumption but I don't know if these will have anything to do with it?

if the temp gauge isnt working the ecu could also think the engine is cold when its hot therfore it runs rough so id look at fixing the temp gauge/sender first

Could check engine thermostat and temp transmitter / sensor . If thermostat jammed open engine wont reach operating temp. affecting performance and efficency .
