2006 Vauxhall Vectra swirl flaps/inlet manifold.

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2006
Variant: 2.2sri direct
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Hi, have had a diagnostic check done on my Vectra and it came back with fault code P1112, swirl flap stuck. Vauxhall say it needs a new inlet manifold (£466 + fitting), on a Vectra forum i use a few people have said that on certain engines you can replace the swirl flaps, my engine being one of them (Z22YH), does anybody know if this is true or not as this could save me a few pounds.
Thanks.

Should be o.k till you get some one to do repair .

word of warning - i too have the 2.2 direct petrol vectra and the swirl valve failed. after removing the inlet manifold and replacing it we realised that one of the flaps had disintegrated and it appears to have ended up "eaten" by the engine! result is 2 cylinders with damage - one has no compression, one very little so next step is head off etc. Bill currently running at around £500 and likely to be substantially more so if the valve is stuck, chances are you could have further problems!

Thanks for the word of warning, just waiting for my mechanic to have a look at it and assess the damage, hopefully its not as bad as that.
I have stopped using the car now until it gets sorted. THANKS.

Swirl flap problem seems to have been sorted, fault code P1191 now seems to be the problem, my mechanic has tried a new h.p. fuel pump but car is still cutting out, could it be the regulator that is at fault...? Any information would be most welcome, car has been out of action for nearly 3 weeks now, what a pain.
Thanks.
