2007 Vauxhall Vectra heating system

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2007
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I have an 07 vectra 1.9 cdti, I was losing a small ammount of water from the header bottle, replaced bottle, replaced water pump and then replaced thermostat, the cars temp gauge is now erratic and it is blowing hot then cold air then hot air again, no water in oil and no leaks can be detected, could this be a cylinder head poblem, I am at my wits end with this car.

The system washed flushed out as far as i know,my mechanic has tried everyhing else, he reckons could be head gasket on way out but the cr is running fine , no smoke or water contamination in the oil, could it be a sensor or anything like that?

Get a pressure test on cooling system to check for external leaks and , if o.k , a sniff test will tell if head gasket knackered .Simple and quick tests .
