2006 Vauxhall Vectra momentum

I notice some times when I accelerate, the momentum stops suddenly almost like a judder, as if the engine was turned off, but within a split second it drives away ok.
Then the symbol with the "spanner and car" comes on. This would stay on till I stop the car and switch every thing off. When re starting the car it disappears and seems to run fine till the next time! Any one any ideas what this is.
I thought perhaps it could be the potentiometer for the throttle??? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Unless you get a diagnostic check and see what shows , just guessing . Could be coil pack .
