2005 Vauxhall Vectra car jerking and loss of power

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.9 CDTi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I was driving around the M25 (at full speed!) when I started to notice the car jerking as if it was struggling, almost choking. It gradually became worse over the next 20 minutes. I came off the motorway and joined a dual carriageway shortly afterwards but couldn't get above 50 mph in 6th gear at around 2000 rpm and the jerking was still present. Tried the car again today and opened the fuel cap to make sure it wasn't a problem with that but it still happens

Any ideas guys?

Hi Lee
I work at Gatwick Airport where we have about 75 Vectras and a lot of us have had this problem.
It turns out to be number 3 injector plug, Dont ask me why number 3 but every car that has had the problem was number 3.
It seems to corrode inside sometimes you may get away with some wd40 but most of us had to buy a new wiring, but no i beleive that Vauxhalls now do a replacement plug but will not admit there is a problem.
