2006 Vauxhall Vectra car juddering when start engine

If it takes a couple of tries to start it, I would look at glow plugs and or glow plug controller, although it should bring a light on if it thinks there is a fault this is not always the case. If when the engine is warm it starts first time and sounds normal, then would look at glow plugs

I have a Vectra Deisel 150 sri. 09 plate. Somtimes when i start it it and the engine catches you could hear a metallic clattering. Almost like the engine was stalling. is this the same as yours?? i ask because on mine it turned out to be the flywheel. They looked at it and the flywheel had teeth missing on it which caused the noise when starting. New flywheel fitted and 3 weeks later its starting to do it again. Its goiung back in soon

Mine is a 55 plate which I only got a couple weeks ago. Its an auto diesel 1.9cdti.
When I first start from cold the car shudders and feels like its about to cut out any minute. The noise also seems to be like a belt of some sort. Once the car is running the car is great, no noise and when stops it doesn't shudder.
Any more info?

That sounds just like what mine was doing. When the engine actually catches it shudders like its going to stall and makes a rough noise like a metal on metal sound. However mine doesnt do it all the time. In the mornings its great, everytime. it always seems to be after its warmed up and you re start it. Anyway it was the flywheel. But like I said it has started doing it again so I think maybe its the starter motor catching.
