2001 Vauxhall Vectra fuel problem

just recently bought my vectra the problem i have is when the fuel gets down to quarter of a tank everytime i turn corners the engine loses power as if its ran out of fuel(petrol by the way)then the power kicks back in.anyone out there can help me please

could be the sender in the tank telling the gauge that there is more petrol than there actually is ,try finding out how many litres the tank holds then fill it when it stills shows quater of a tank and you should only get 3 quaters of the total tank in
