2003 Vauxhall Vectra loss of power

After going through 1st, 2nd and in 3rd gear, the power seems to stop dead at 40 mph. I cannot increase the speed whilst in 3rd gear. However, if I move up to 4th gear I can slowly increase the power/speed up to roughly 60 mph when the loss of power/accelaration re-occurs.

get the airflow meter checked or subsituted with a new one.

Yes sound like air flow meter.
