1999 Vauxhall Vectra running problem/ engine light

hello hope somebody can help, engine light come on and computor diagoes lambda sensor discovered it had been running with a zironia not a titaim (only had it 4 weeks) got a titaium one from srap yard car now runs very lumpy with poor performace could sensor still be faulty, wrong one? engine model is X18XE1 any clues please

Hi, andy does the car revs bounce up and down I.E when you dipp your clutch or first turn of the key.

seams to take a while to catch up from pressing pedel to car responding, and egine revs die and then shoot up, its as if still in limp mode without any warning light on think somebody has put a kangroo in place of engine hope this helps
