Burning oil

Hi I got vectra got a burning oil smell from around heat shield but oil level staying same the location is as your looking at engine right hand side of exhaust manifold by a black dome thing with a nut on top can you give me any suggestions pls it's just started

If it's a 32mm nut and from what you say , it sounds like the oil filter .
