2004 Vauxhall Vectra white smoke on start up

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2004
Variant: 2.0 dti
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi all,
Car runs fine, no warning lights or fault codes but gives out a cloud of white smoke when starting from cold.
Glow plugs working ok, (only operate at low temp anyway)
I wonder if injector seals may be letting oil in ?
Any ideas ?

cheers

White smoke is either from water/coolant in the cylinders,
or incomplete fuel burning.
So If it were with me now I'd do a cylinder compression test on a cold engine and if that was ok I'd then run a coolant dye test for head gasket faults.
But some diesels are just smoky first thing
