2004 Vauxhall Vectra knocking,creaking noise

when i drive the car at low speeds or in 1st & 2nd usually i get a knocking,creaking noise coming from the front of the car.sounds like coming from around clutch or centre console area.noise isnt always there then other times gets loud.driving me nuts and 1 garage hears but cant find fault while vauxhall say flywheel and clutch need replaced.any ideas???

well all i would say is it sounds like a clutch problem but get quotes from the clutch centres in your area or even have the car checked out by your dealer to be sure that it is what they say it is and if it isnt then you find out its some thing else that isnt as expensive as replacing the clutch items to find out that the problem is still there so get it chacked out before you have any more work done

had it checked by garage bought it from and they say its nothing wrong which they would say.also when u turn car on and of you get rattle 2 as if engine haking.again sumtimes loud other times not to bad.garages saying dif things from each other and dont know what 2 believe
