2003 Vauxhall Vectra tappets ?

Variant: 2.2 diesel
Hi I'm looking at buying a vauxhall vectra 2.2 diesel 03 plate there is a tapping notice coming from engine that the current owner has told me it is tappits ? Apparently it needs flushed and an engine change and it will be fine is this correct ? Thanks

Those cars suffered from timing chain failure and can be expensive if that is the noise .If that was all that was needed to cure noise , you would have thought he would have done it before trying to sell it ?

Yea this is true it sounded a bit odd to me I got the usual don't have the money to do it ect thanks alotm
