2006 Vauxhall Vectra tapping noise on a cold start

Hi, my vectra has started to make a tapping noise when I start it in the morning, also my oil light stays on for about 2 or 3 seconds. No a warm start, it over revs but no oil

Advise flush and new oil and filter as a first step,tapping noise from cold start can be normal depending on noise level,may just be tappets .

I've already just changed the oil and filter, I was thinking along the lines of the oil pump starting to wear out???

Advise you take it to an engine specialist for a second opinion if you think it,s as major an issue as oil pump or worn shells,They could check the pressure being produced by the pump with a gauge .

Just to add to the other good suggestions from " busted knuckles " it may be a partially blocked pick up pipe / filter in the sump .
