No current going to front foglights in bumper 1999 Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 ls
I have a vauxhall vectra 1.8 ls model. I have fittied GSI front bumper and also the foglights along with a new relay wires and switch but they are not coming on. I can here the relay clicking but they wont turn on however when i bridge the connection they work fine. Any ideas???

Do they not just work with dipped h/lamps ?

as above they should only come on with dipped beam

I have tried it with the park lights and also with the dipped lower beam and still no joy.

What connection are you bridging ? Tried running a temporary earth to lamps?

i have tried the two wires earth and positive the earth is ok its just the positive now current coming if i connect a positive wire from battery to the positive wire bouth fog light come on.

You need to have front fog lights activated via tech 2, same as any other additions you make to the electrical system.

not sure when reading your problem if you have used the wireing already in place on the car or done a complete new intallation using new wires etc if new installation there will be 4 terminals on new accesory relay number 30 goes to battery positive terminal using an inline fuse number 85 goes to earth the pos wire from the FOGLAMPS goes to relay terminal 87 terminal 86 goes to your new switch from the other side switch you need to tap into dipped beam circuit take connector of headlamp bulb find correct terminal one that is live when dipped beam on strip insulation on wire solder on wire from switch and insulate could use scotch lock if you want switch must be iluminated and of course both fog lamps must be earthed to car body
