2004 Vauxhall Vectra fumes from engine

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.9cdti 150 16v
Categories: Leaks & Noises
On 2 occasions now l have had what smells like diesel spillage on the exhaust it has happened at times l cannot stop to investigate l have checked the fuel system no leaks that l can see if the filter housing was leaking it would be all the time.
White smoke come out the back of the car but cannot tell if its the exhaust or just coming from underneath. Looking at the ERG should l replace or remove and blank of? anyone had this sort of problem ?

Maybe your egr valve req removed and cleaned out,and check all hoses are intact.just a friend had a similar issue and it was egr choked, worth a look.

check for any leaks on engine is coolant level ok and not loosing coolant but as you can smell diesel and white smoke could be over fueling caused by a faulty fuel injector
