2008 Vauxhall Vectra boot lid not opening ,i have changed the mechanism on the boot itself at £34 and i have since been informed that a common fault is the wiring i am wondering if anyone has had the same problem and how much it costs ?

ihad same problem with my estate was told wiring at top of door got it checked.it was setting alarm off,i removed the rubber on button and sprayed the mech with wd40 it sorted my problem
