2006 Vauxhall Vectra battery flat

battery has been flat but odd times the car has started ok. does anyone know if the alternator is faulty would it show up on the dashboard on the warning message. the battery is the original one one the car....thank you

You would better to get your battery load tested .Get them to test the alternator output at same time , two min job .Most places like Halfords will do the tests while you wait , usuallY FOC or any decent car accessory shop or store .

As stated, get it tested. I would think after 6 years or so its probably knackered.
