Tyre Pressure Monitor Sensors broken - warning lights on Dashboard

2002 Vauxhall Vectra 2.2i Elegance
Car: Vauxhall Vectra

Hi all,

I have a 2.2i petrol Vectra Elegance on a 52 plate. Last week I neede 4 new tyres. While replacing them, the tyre shop informed me that the metal valve caps had coroded onto the valve stems and they would probably damage the sensors trying to get them off. I asked the implications of this and they said if they broke any, the standard thing to do was replace them with normal valve stems and tape the sensors to the inside of the wheels, giving the impression to the sensor unit that they were still in place and working.
They managed to break all 4 and did what they said and taped them all to the insides of the wheels.
The problem I have is that they keep falling off.
Is there any way of removing all the sensors and disabling the constant warnings on the dashboard that I'm getting?
Vauxhall dealer said "No", but are they just trying to get me to replace all the sensors, or is there really no way of disabling the dashboard warnings? With Tech2 or equivalent?
I also understand its now an MOT failure to have these warning lights on the dashboard!!
Many thanks for any help at all.

its not an mot fail yet . yes you do need new sensors or its tape over the light.

To enable the system in the first instance you need TECH 2. So you should be able to remove the system with TECH 2...
