2004 Vauxhall Vectra radio draining battery

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.9 TDi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The radio (CD30) did not come on automatically with the ignition.
A week later the battery was flat.
Had the battery & alternator checked and they are OK.
Took the radio fuse out and now no battery problem.
Took the radio out but don't know how to test whether it is the radio or the connection from radio to power.
Any ideas how to test?

You say that the Radio "did not come on with the Ignition". I presume that also means it was not going off with the Ignition and consequently may have been left on leading to a drain on the Battery. If you review the Book regarding your Radio you can set it so it switched on and off automatically with the ignition. If you do not have the Book let me know and I will take a photo of the section in my book and add it here if required.

My radio come’s on by itself, I changed setting so that it would only come on when required but this did not work last winter I had the same problem. This year the fault drained the battery. Went to the local dealer they would put it on the dynastic machine haven’t got around to that yet I’m at the moment disconnecting the battery as i said earlier the cold seams to affect my car strange
