2008 Vauxhall Vectra tailgate not opening

Variant: 1.9 sri cdti
tailgate is not opening , i changed the micro switch at a cost of £30 but this did not work i am wondering what else it can be

I had a simular problem with my car, This turned out to be the tailgate sticking to the boot rubber, talc the rubber to prevent this.
can you hear the boot clicking when you press the button to open it?
