2005 Vauxhall Vectra battery going flat

Car: Vauxhall Vectra

Variant: 1.9 cdti 150
Categories: Leaks & Noises
have just replaced battery due to a fault with it but now every 2-3 days it goes flat.i have had alternator checked & was told its working fine.today a friend pluged in a snap on code reader & it said hazard warning switch stuck open?.does this mean the switch has to be replaced or does it mean somthing else as somtimes i lose the display for the radio on the dash but when i checked the fuse & put it back in it came back on.if anybody can throw some light on these problems i would be very grateful.thanks.

remove the switch, it will be warm if it is pulling a constant drain or it will show deformation and/or blackening or colour changes; replace this switch. check the battery voltage when the car is locked, removal of fuses one by one until the battery volts jump up will identify your drain source.
NB This kind of thing can be more often linked to a weak central locking motor or corroded switch/relay that is serving it. Try the doors, boot lid and petrol flap to see if any lock motors remain open or not fully closed.

hi & thanks to roger the drummer for his answer.i have today disconnected the radio from the car & noticed that the heat plate on the side of the unit was warm to the touch bearing in mind i have not used the car for over 5 hours so will now see if this may be the cause of the problem.i removed the hazard warning switch & upon inspection it seems ok ie not warm distorted burnt.it seems that other vectra owners have had similar problems & would like to hear how they got the problem sorted so anyone who could help me i would be very grateful.thanks.
