2002 Vauxhall Vectra no turnover on starting

Car: Vauxhall Vectra
Year: 2002
Variant: SXi 16v 2198
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The interior electicals and exterior lights are all working fine, but on turning the ignition, nothing happens (apart from all interior electrics are off as you'd expect).

No noise, no startermotor turnover, nothing.

Turn key back, all electrics back on.

check the earth lead as well sometimes there will be a second earth lead from the engine to the chassis somewhere, you can use a jump lead to check this from a good contact somewhere on the engine to the same on the chassis
