2000 Vauxhall Vectra revs not going past 6 thousand and lack of power

Year: 2000
Variant: 2.2 sri 150

engine management light is on but thats due to the front lambda sensor but its not causing the revs its sluggish and dont go past 6 grand but before use to go like a rocket and easily bounce on the limit any answer's really helpfull THAKS.

if you know the management light is on because of the lambda you really need to address the problem, the lambda is a key player in the management system and needs to function correctly to give optimum performance

So,the O2 sensor's shot,take it out,start the engine,it'll be noisy,and see if it'll redline.
If it does then the catalytic converter is blocked almost solid.
No odd smells?
very hot/glowing manifold?
cost you nothing test.
