If you check your expansion bottle level when cold and note the fluid height mark it with a felt tip .Then you can drive the car and re-check it when cold again. This will varify for definite no water is being lost.If you are losing water then check oil and water for sign of oil residue if none then poss, external leak. But do the check first as coolant levels can vary from hot to cold engine. It maybe okay.

If you think you are losing coolant , a pressure test will show any external leaks .If still losing water , a block test will confirm if head gasket leaking or not .It all depends where a blown head gasket goes whether it mixes with oil or not .
