Hard to say without hearing noise , Is the noise there when key removed ? when engine running ?

Thank you for replying to my problem, The continuous noise is there all the time. I even left the car for a day thinking it was something to do with the freezing temperatures. I checked today and I can here it faintly outside the locked car and louder when I open the door. I was first aware of it when I went to use the car on Wednesday morning. I had to drive it with the noise going, but I didn't have to go far. It would be difficult to drive it any further. The noise is not loud it is just high pitched and annoying. You can barely hear it outside. It is not coming from under the bonnet it is inside the car. The noise is there when the key is removed and the noise is there when the engine is running. Hope this helps.

When key out and locked up , most systems are disabled except for the alarm . You do have monitoring of interior which can be switched off to enable the likes of a dog being left in car and not triggering the alarm . It's possible the noise is coming from a sensor inside . You could try switching the passenger compartment monitoring off and see if noise stops . The method of doing so is in the owners h/ book . Might be worth a try and double check doors and boot all fully closed .Also check rear boot partition shelf fully in position .

P.S
If you dont have a h/ book , page 31 onwards

Hi its the bloody roof buzzer relay! Its in front of the gear stick on the left side if you take the screws out the centre console you can pull it up enough to get the relay out

The continuous noise carried on for days and even made the battery flat. When the whole car was shut and locked it could still be heard with my ear to the window. The only way to stop it was to go though the fuses. and there are many of them, one at a time, until I came to the roof fuse. As soon as the roof fuse was taken out the noise stopped instantly. The only downside is the roof fuse is linked to the boot and the boot will not open without the roof fuse in place. However, I can now drive the car without the continuous noise and that is more important at the moment. In the summer I will look into opening the roof, it may be just jammed. Didn't want to do it at the moment as the weather is changeable and it may get stuck open.
