Poor cold start

my car doesn't seem to like the cold. very poor at starting if below 7.5 degrees outside. ive noticed the coil symbol on the dash only stays on for a second or 2...any ideas?

Test the glow plugs , may need replacing .

To test use a test light and disconnect your glow plugs then place crocodile clip onto battery positive and touch the probe end of your test light onto the individual glow plug if the test lamp lights then glow plug internal circuit is ok,if it does not then it,s not ok. Note this method is only to be used on your style of glow plug and not on ceramic style.
