Started with a rattling through steering column last dec (10), took to garage who said UJ needed replacing. Had job done but still rattling. Took it back within days he tightened up bolt on clasp at bottom of rod (under carpet flap near pedals). Said it was as tight as he cud get because clasps are brittle and could break.
Took it back within days again still rattling persists. Put loctite on bolt to stop further movement. Still rattle persists. Going over cobbles, potholes and between 60-70mph on motorway rattling !!
been looking on other forums and 03/04 models seem to be worse. any help please ! thanks

Get a second opinion on noise from another garage and get them to check the work done on steering column .
