2007 Vauxhall Meriva intermittent knocking noise

I get an intermittent knocking noise when driving sometimes quite loud. I have had the brakes and cv joints checked and they were ok. Had new engine mounts fitted as the garage said they were worn and could cause knocking but this didn't help.
Sound like it's coming from the front of the car somewhere.

A common fault are worn front suspension anti roll bar links and bushes which can cause knocking
