When driving and I change gear into third the electric parking brake comes on and stops the car

Car should not be driven with that fault and needs to be scanned with suitable equipment for fault codes

Do you have anything hung around the gearstick that can catch the parking brake switch when changing gear?

Post is more than 4 months old , so probably got it fixed by now and unlikely to answer you .
