Temporary loss of power/acceleration

2013 Vauxhall Meriva 1.7 cdti se auto
Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2013
Variant: 1.7 cdti se auto
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The problem is strange no warning lights or codes at all but what happens now and again is that the car has no acceleration at all regardless of how far down you press the gas pedal just no revs then all of a sudden it comes back . We have changed the MAF thinking that this might be the issue and it was fine for a week and then it happened again so we are confused and have no clue what the issue is. Any help or ideas please?

Could try changing fuel filter . Another possible cause could be the TPS ( Throttle Position Sensor ) but USUALLY throws a code

Can I ask if you managed to get this sorted and if so what it was? I also have an auto meriva and having the exact same problem. I've been told its a common fault from water getting into the fuse box. Having it looked at tomorrow.

I too have the same problem, my car is currently in the garage, they’ve just called to say it’s showing nothing on the diagnostic but it’s dreadful to drive, twice now I’ve been driving and as I’ve excelerated the car has died, loss of all power including steering, I’m lucky I’ve not been hit by another car as I was on a fly over at the time. There going to try changing the filters, but if that fails it needs a Vauxhall dealer to look at it, I know that I’ll be scared to drive it when I get it back. The odd thing is, when it lost all power it started straight away.
