2014 Vauxhall Meriva emission warning light..

Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2014
Variant: Tech Line VVT 1398
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My Emission warning light comes on if my revs go below 500 or idles. otherwise the light does not come on. I have had the fuel line flushed and only use premium petrol (Not Supermarket) I took it to the garage but they just done a diagnostic test and told me what i already know. Can anyone help or advise please which would be very much appreciated.

" My Emission warning light comes on if my revs go below 500 " Not surprising , too slow an idle speed . What fault codes did the scan show that you already knew ?

Thanks for the reply. No fault code Just the Malfunction indicator light telling me a fault in the emission control. The light is not flashing. If it is too slow an idle speed do you have any advice on how to get a fix.. Once again thanks for your help and support Whittingehame...

You could try replacing the engine coolant temp sensor , this sends info to the ECU how much fuel is needed and could possibly fix the low idle . Simple job and sensor relatively cheap .If scanned with the appropriate diagnostic like Tech 2/3 it would retrieve any stored fault codes and give you the reason the MIL being triggered .
