2006 Vauxhall Meriva boot lock fail

Car: Vauxhall Meriva
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.3CDTI
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I replaced a broken boot loom and the lock works fine opening the boot until I deadlock it and then it stops working completely when the car is unlocked again.

If wiring at top into tailgate o.k , no difference if you push the unlock button twice ?

Yes the wiring is ok as I bought a new loom for the tailgate. I have checked this with the old loom and all of the connections are the same. Surprisingly, the old loom now has the same symptoms and does not work at all after the boot has been locked. Works fine up until that point and multiple presses makes no difference.

Its a 56 plate, don't think it has comfort settings.

I once found the hidden menu for follow me home lights and drivers door only unlock, the two stalks method does not work and I cannot remember how I got to it. If I can get back in, I'm hoping it might reset the CANbus and fix it. Any clues from anybody?
