2010 Vauxhall Meriva sounds like air coming from underneath car like the sound of letting a balloon down

Last couple of days I have started the car and there has been a sound on the right side inside like the sound of a distant hoover! Also on the outside sounds like air coming from somewhere like the sound of a balloon been let down.

Without hearing it , hard to advise . One possibility is the engine regenerating which it does every so often and when it's doing this it causes engine sound to change , cooling fans to come on amongst other actions .

O know o need a new fuel sender unit as it plays up I ran out of diesel yesterday in middle of the road and the electric handbrake wouldn't turn off but after a while figured out how to do it with the brake .ever since then the sound has appeared .

Deffinatley not that,only way I can describe the sound is lots of air escaping from a balloon or the sound of an oxygen mask
