2006 Vauxhall Meriva flashing f won't start

Bad news and usually expensive when that appears . Common failure of the Vauxhall Meriva Easytronic clutch actuator will prevent the engine from starting and will display the 'F' warning message on the gear display. When trying to diagnose the fault on the vehicle scan tools will reveal fault codes for actuator malfunction, position control error and parameter issues.

Thank you so much for your response it is the clutch Actuator the mechanic tole me the code but didn't seem to want to fix it, am I better off just getting rid of the car then? or is there a possibility of getting it fix or would it just cost me a fortune? I'm gutted thank you

Sorry I forgot to add the mechanic cleared the code so I was able to drive car home it was working then my partner fiddled with the sunroof and code came back on so that made me think is it the clutch or could it be the electrics probably sounds mad as I have no idea about cars but thought it was odd. Could that cause the f to come up or am I wishful thinking that it could be something as easy as that?

Here is an example of possible repair , Code returns if fault not fixed . Very unlikely sun roof would cause this but who knows , I've learned over the years never to assume anything with cars .
