When the gearbox is hot { stuck in a traffic jam] after many stops and starts , when i start to move forward the car could jump as if 1st gear is trying to engage . A new gearbox valve body has been fitted but this did not solve the problem!

There maybe a simple fix in that the Vauxhall automatic gearbox has a neutral select feature when you hold the car on the brakes and in gear, when in traffic ease off the brake pedal to allow the gearbox to select the gear again and you should find the jerk will be gone, If you were to accelerate straight away you get a jerk as in effect you are revving the engine in neutral then selecting a gear.
